We are delighted to announce that KIM HfG research fellow Paolo Caffoni has been appointed assistant to the chair in Media Philosophy. Caffoni will be coordinator of the KIM research group and will help develop, together with Prof. Pasquinelli, the curriculum in Media Philosophy in the direction of critical pedagogies and epistemologies.
Caffoni PhD project focuses on the methodologies of Naoki Sakai and Antonio Gramsci, investigating practices of translation among different media as a process of encounter between political subjectivities. His research interests include practices of critical pedagogy, the digitization of higher education, translation and mobility studies. Caffoni is also faculty member of the New Academy of Fine Arts (NABA) in Milan and was part of the curatorial team of the Second Yinchuan Biennale (China). Since 2009, he has worked as editor of Berlin based publishing house Archive Books.
